One of Málaga’s leading cultural spaces is offering six national and international artists an opportunity to work and live in-house at La Termica for four months in 2019. The annual programme is called “Creators” and applications are being accepted from across the world until November 16th. The programme is available for any artistic discipline.
Along with living at La Termica each of the six chosen artists will be given studio space to work on their project and a €2,400 cash award. There will be training programmes in place along with activities. These will be overseen by national and international professionals and are structured to include workshops, specialised classes, seminars, tutorials, cultural excursions and mentoring. Technical support will also be available.
La Térmica is at the Creators’ disposal to include a single bedroom, studio space, additional shared areas for work and gatherings such as workshops, access and use of the common facilities, collective work spaces, meeting rooms, training rooms, office, toilet facilities and rest areas.
To participate, Creators will work on a project that they conceived specifically for the programme and will be part of La Térmica Contemporary Art Collection once the residence period is over. A report on each project will also be submitted to La Termica upon completion of the programme
La Térmica is a contemporary and cultural creation and production centre. It is based on a modern, open and diverse approach that looks at life through culture and a very personal inclusive initiative. This is a unique facility that has become a place of creation, learning and leisure where one can enjoy a range of artistic disciplines such as live music, shows, conferences, exhibitions, meetings and a whole range of activities that embrace culture.
The adjudication panel will evaluate all entries after the closing date in November and the six successful Creators will be announced on the La Termica website in December. The Creators will be in residence at La Termica for four months starting in February 2019.
Lets hope we have some applications from Ireland
